Tony Riello, a local barber that everyone seems to know and love, asked me to create a logo for his new barber shop. The shop is named after Tony’s grandfather, who was also an entrepreneur in Pittsfield. Tony wanted to mimic the typography that adorned the sides of his grandfather’s delivery trucks in the 1940-50s. He also wanted to include his grandfather’s portrait in the design.
Here’s my inspiration for the logo, followed by some initial sketches and the final selection.
